Isla Monita is a private 250 acre island in Lake Yelcho, Chilean Patagonia, just where the River Futaleufu enters the lake. This ensures exclusivity and privacy. The views of the surrounding mountains are majestic and serene. The lack of traffic and noise ensures abundant birdlife and, of course the Yelcho dragon flies are there from November to May. If you want privacy, exclusivity and great fly fishing of brown, rainbow and brook trout without being in ostentatious luxury, then this is the place for you.

Isla Monita Fishing Lodge is ideally located with excellent access to the greatest diversity of trout water in Chilean Patagonia. Right from our doorstep we access the whole of Lago Yelcho and its magnificent reed beds, the lower 7 miles of the Futaleufu River, including its delta as it enters the Yelcho ( a five minute boat ride from the lodge), and four private, sheltered lagunas. In addition, we run drift boat float trips on the upper and lower Futaleufu sections, the Rio Yelcho, and two sections on the Palena River. All this is between a 45 minute and 1 1/2 hours´ drive from the lodge.

In Chile, the wild card is the weather, and we strongly believe that having a diversity of water to offer the visiting angler is the best way to ensure that your trip to the south is not anything but a success story. We have, in fact, enough water within our operations that we have guests who have come back for their third week with us and are still getting on new water.

We maintain a high standard of quality in our North American guide staff, who are trained and well experienced in offering such a diversity of trout fishing opportunities.
